Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) is a specific form of treatment for patients with IgE-mediated allergic diseases. AIT is based on the administration of causative allergens in order to induce immunological tolerance to it. The main advantages of AIT over all other available treatments for allergy are that it induces long-lasting protection and prevents the progression of the disease to more severe manifestations. This article reviews the results of studies on a promising allergy vaccine developed for AIT in birch pollen allergy.

Аллерген-специфическая иммунотерапия (АСИТ) представляет собой специфическую форму лечения для пациентов, страдающих IgE-ассоциированными аллергическими заболеваниями. АСИТ основана на введении причинно-значимого аллергена с целью индукции иммунологической толерантности к аллергену. Основные преимущества АСИТ перед всеми другими существующими методами лечения аллергии заключаются в том, что она индуцирует длительную защиту и предотвращает прогрессирование заболевания до тяжелых проявлений. В этой статье рассмотрены результаты исследований перспективной аллерговакцины, разработанной для АСИТ при аллергии на пыльцу березы.
